in-cosmetics Asia 2023 to Focus on Conscious Beauty, Sustainability & Hair CareAttendees joining in-cosmetics Asia 2023 – the unmissable event where personal care product creators and ingredient suppliers come together – will see a strong emphasis placed on the key factors driving industry change this year.

Global and regional exports will dive into the most prominent trends, such as sustainable ‘conscious’ beauty, and hair care, while initiatives that encompass the growing influence that indie brands and the Indian market are having on the global market will also be put in the spotlight.

This November, visitors will see a string of new innovative and captivating initiatives that address current and emerging trends, with three days of networking and unmissable opportunities to showcase new ingredients, formulations, products, and technologies within the international cosmetics and personal care ingredients industry.

New and Improved for 2023

Taking place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre: BITEC from 7-9 November 2023, more than 500 leading suppliers and specialists will showcase over 1,100 ingredients. 28% of this year’s exhibitors are new at in-cosmetics Asia, demonstrating that attendees will undoubtedly find a host of exciting new suppliers at the event. They will also have the chance to discuss, formulate, and discover the latest innovations for new product development as the industry transforms in line with the next big trends.

Sustainability and ‘conscious’ beauty continue to prove popular among consumers. In fact, the APAC region contributed significantly to this growth. According to the GlobalData Consumer Survey Q3, over a third (39%) of consumers in the APAC region proactively sought products that contained only natural ingredients. This year’s event will spotlight sustainable, eco-conscious products and practices that are creating a pathway for industry change.

The Spotlight On Sustainable, Conscious Beauty product showcase will help companies and suppliers tackle their sustainability challenges, from uncertainties around incorporating certain ingredients and best practices, to efficacy and marketing challenges. Visitors will also be presented with opportunities to seek new and fresh ideas on formulating environmentally friendly ingredients and launch a brand-new cosmetic line.

The Spotlight On Seminars will deliver comprehensive technical insights from the likes of Soho Aneco Chemicals Co., Ltd, Ashland Singapore Pte Ltd, KyungHee University, Hi-Q Marine Biotech International Ltd., and Shanghai Coachchem Technology Co., Ltd.

Hair care will also be a key focus, following recent studies by Covalo showing that haircare was the most popular category in the region in 2022, with 55% of APAC professionals searching for relevant applications and active ingredients, compared to just 36% worldwide. As such, scalp care and follicle care will be honed in on in the Spotlight On product showcase, Love is in the Hair, offering visitors the opportunity to enhance their haircare projects and learn more about the issues and opportunities within the sector.

A Hub for Indie Brands

While in-cosmetics Asia is well-known for the number of large, global beauty brands it attracts, attendees from SMEs make up over half of the visitors to the event.

As such, this year will see a dedicated focus on independent, trailblazing companies making a mark on the industry. The Indie Trail is designed to help smaller brands identify exhibitors that can fulfill small ingredient orders and put them in front of the opportunities that have the potential to transform their business. Almost 30% of the exhibitors at the show this year can cater to small orders, some of which include Croda, Greenphyt, Lipotrue, Lubrizol, Provital, and Rahn.

India: A Country of Colors, Cultures, and Contrasts

According to Euromonitor International, India now ranks as the world’s 8th largest beauty and personal care market in the world, just after France, with a total value of $15 billion and a growing rate of 10% annually. The consultancy predicts cosmetics and skincare will help double this by 2030. Against this backdrop, in-cosmetics Asia will explore what the country has to offer.

As part of the India Country Focus, visitors will find a targeted trail around the event signposting Indian exhibitors, with the likes of Galaxy Surfactants Ltd., Keva Fragrance Industries PTE. Ltd., Trishveda Naturals Pvt. Ltd set to take part. The program will also provide attendees with updates on the raw materials presented by Indian suppliers, a series of presentations centered on the Indian cosmetic market, and a full editorial program about the Indian personal care market.
