Cosmetics ingredients supplied by Siltech

Silquat® products are alkylamino-modified silicones quaternized with methyl diethyl or methyl distearyl groups, developed by Siltech. The modification provides a cationic material that is exceptional at migrating and attaching to surfaces leaving behind a layer of hydrophobic silicone. The major classes of quaternary compounds are:

Silicone Dialkyl Quats - Alkyl group can range from C1 to C18
Silicone Fatty Amido Quats - Fatty group can range from lauric to stearic. These are 70% active in hexylene glycol
Silicone Polyether Fatty Quats - Fatty group can range from lauric to stearic
