Glyceryl Oleate. IMWITOR® 948 by IOI Oleo acts as a non-ionic, polar co-emulsifier for O/W emulsions. It is produced by the esterification of plant-derived glycerol with vegetable sourced fatty acids, chiefly oleic acid. It is 100% natural, vegan and contains tocopherol as an antioxidant. It is used in topical formulations as an emollient & conditioning agent and stabilizer & co-emulsifying agent for water-in-oil emulsions. In body washes, it reduces skin roughness caused by surfactants. Once adsorbed by hair, it reduces brittleness, thus decreases the combing force of wet hair and enhances gloss. In excess of water, it forms gel which releases water-soluble ingredients. It is applicable for cold/cold, pre-emulsions, hot/cold/cold and hot/hot processes. IMWITOR® 948 finds application in formulating skin-, baby-, body-, hair-, beard-, sun- and bath care products. It is ECOCERT and COSMOS approved and has a shelf life of 24 months.
