Dimethicone. Cor-Sil 201-1000 by Cornelius is non-toxic and non-irritating polydimethylsiloxane carrier. It could provide better silky feel and enhances the long-lasting performance of other active ingredients on skin. It offers high water repellence, compatibility, low reactivity, and vapor pressure. It imparts soft, velvety skin feel and protects the skin. It can be well formulated in personal care products to obtain better combing, conditioning, and smoothness. It provides low surface energy and good heat stability. It spreads easily on both skin and hair. It offers de-soaping property (prevents foaming during rubout). Cor-Sil 201-1000 can be used in the skin care applications. The recommended usage level is 1 to 10%. It has shelf life of 12 months.
