Laponite® XLS XR

Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate (nano) (and) Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate. Laponite® XLS XR by Eckart is a hydrophilic synthetic layered silicate thickener for water phases in cosmetic applications. It possesses a low heavy metal content, incorporating an inorganic polyphosphate dispersing agent. It is sterilized by gamma irradiation.

• It hydrates and swells to give clear & colorless colloidal dispersions of low viscosity known as sols, providing a delayed gel formation.
• It is recommended for incorporation into formulations containing low levels of free water, such as skin wash products.
• It imparts light and non-sticky texture to the products.
• It exhibits unique shear thinning, thixotropic rheology and particle suspending properties.
• Laponite® XLS XR is suitable for formulating creams & lotions, sunscreen products, depilatory creams, bath & shower gels and anti-dandruff shampoos.
• It is also used in color cosmetics such as liquid make-up, foundations, liquid eyeliners and mascaras.
• It enhances the stability of formulations and keeps particles, pigments or solid actives suspended.
• It has a shelf life of 48 months.
