Laponite® XL 21 XR

Sodium Magnesium Fluorosilicate (nano). Laponite® XL 21 XR by Eckart is a hydrophilic synthetic layered silicate thickener of water phases in cosmetic applications. It is specially developed to give improved performance in personal care products formulated at pH 5.5 and lower.

• It imparts light and non-sticky texture to the formulations.
• It hydrates and swells to produce clear and colorless colloidal dispersions in water or aqueous solutions of alcohols.
• At concentrations of 2% or greater in water, highly thixotropic gels are obtained.
• It exhibits unique shear thinning and pseudoplastic flow behavior for excellent spray of aerosols and pump sprays as well as improved spreadability of creams & lotions.
• It enhances the stability of emulsions and keeps particles, pigments or solid actives suspended.
• Laponite® XL 21 XR is used in formulating sunscreen products, depilatory creams, toothpastes, bath & shower gels, anti-dandruff shampoos, and color cosmetics such as liquid make-up, foundations and liquid eyeliners.
• It is sterilized by gamma irradiation and possesses low heavy metal content.
• It has a shelf life of 48 months.
