Ucare™ JR-400

Polyquaternium-10. Ucare™ JR 400 by Dow acts as a repairing, moisturizing, conditioning and film forming agent. It is a water-soluble, multifunctional, cationic polymer having a cellulosic backbone derived from natural, renewable resources, such as cotton or wood. It is essentially non-irritating to the eyes, hence can be included in shampoo and facial-cleanser formulations. Moreover, it improves deposition of beneficial agents and overall aesthetics. Exhibits non-newtonian pseudoplastic properties and migrates directly to the point of damage to mend split ends. It can be used with or without silicones & compatible with a wide range of surfactants. It enables the clear formulations with no build-up on hair and avoids volume-down effects. Ucare™ JR 400 is recommended for liquid-soap systems, body washes, bar soaps, mild surfactant systems and sprayable products.
