AAK Personal Care developed this shea-based
emollient ester. It has a sensory profile and appearance similar to low molecular weight dimethicone. It also has comparable viscosity, spreadability, and skin feel. At in-cosmetics Global, the team will challenge visitors to spot the difference between a formulation based on LIPEX® SheaLuxe TR™ and one using dimethicone.

LIPEX® SheaLuxe TR™ stands out because of its strong sustainability credentials. This distinguishes it from silicones, alkanes, and other plant-based esters. The product is processed using low temperatures and non-toxic catalysts. Shea is sourced from a segregated supply chain. This chain is fully traceable to the AAK Kolo Nafaso direct sourcing program in West Africa. All product emissions are calculated and offset using Gold Standard and Fairtrade carbon credits. The credits are generated by a cookstove project. This initiative supports climate action in the shea supply base. It also directly improves the lives of local communities.
