An Interview with Jeremy Zimmerman, Sales Director, Primient

#1. What does the transition of TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives to PRIMIENT mean for the cosmetics industry?
Our manufacturing process, regulatory compliance, and technical specifications remain at the same high standard, and we are excited about our future and the potential the TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives portfolio brings to customers in the personal care space.

Our sustainable agriculture program with Truterra™--the sustainable solutions business of Land O’Lakes, one of America’s largest farmer-owned cooperatives–continues to break new ground. The program supports over 1.2 million acres and our producer partners, helping them to plan and target sustainable practices in their fields and across the growing cycle. It’s just one of the ways we're continuing to meet our responsible sourcing commitments while also working together to achieve Scope 3 greenhouse gas reductions for a brighter future.
Primient is also aligned with the UN global compact and is committed to making an impact on relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). As a new organization, we are finalizing our full SDG strategy and will announce more specific programs, goals, and targets in the coming months.
#3. How did your company come up with the TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives product range?
Our TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives range was a natural evolution of our starch innovation pipeline.
Starch-based polymer technologies have long been used in food applications to create various textures via thickening, binding, emulsification, bulking, and film forming properties. Translating these attributes to the personal care space was an intuitive fit due to the inherent bio-based nature and functionality of our starches.
#4. How does the TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives portfolio stand out as a unique solution for cosmetics formulation?
Launched in February 2020, TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives demonstrate capabilities to form films and gels; thicken as emulsions; and act as bulk fillers and binders. These key properties, along with their high bio-based content, make our premium starches superstar ingredients for formulators looking to provide sustainable/natural options in their personal care products. Our proven expertise and complementary portfolio allow our team to tailor the natural-based polymer properties to fit formulation needs. Our
TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives are stand out solutions across a diverse range of personal care formulations including, but not limited to
lotions, creams, gels, serums, dry powders, and sunscreens.

About Jeremy Zimmerman
Jeremy Zimmerman is the director of specialty starch sales and corporate accounts at Primient. He has extensive commercial experience in sales management, key account management, territory sales, product management, technical service, process engineering and production supervision.
Jeremy graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Paper Science and Engineering (Chemical). His love for sports is reflected from his contribution to the University of Wisconsin--Stevens Point (UWSP) Athletics varsity baseball team.
