The epidermis consists of several strata of cells, of which the deepest is the basal stratum consisting of undifferentiated cells. Over the course of time, these cells will differentiate and migrate to the surface of the epidermis, thereby constituting the various strata of the latter, as far as forming, at the surface of the epidermis, the corneocytes which are dead cells which are removed by des
