Children's Products - Part 2

SpecialChem / Nick Morante – Jan 25, 2007

Since this subject seems to have a much wider scope than people may realize, it forces me to create additional parts on this subject so that we can expand on this all-important subject. In my readings over the years and especially recently with more people searching the Internet for information or purchasing and being concerned about products and how they may react on their or their family's skin. As I mentioned, over the years I have come across numerous articles on this subject that have made an impact on our industry. I read one such article that came all the way from Australia. A few years ago the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a notice after some cosmetic products directed towards the children's market were found to be in violation of the Australian cosmetics information standard. These products were found on the market in the city of Darwin. What made it worse, these products were found right around the Christmas holiday shopping season. People spend just as much money on cosmetics in Australia as in the rest of the world.
