Lauryl Pyrrolidone. N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone by YR Chemspec is a biodegradable, low-foaming, nonionic surfactant and conditioning agent. It acts as a thickener and foam stabilizer in shampoos, without need for salt or alkanolamides. It provides high surface activity at very low conditions, wetting enhancement and helps to improve formulation clarity.

It offers mild substantivity, body, shine and manageability to hair.
It is used in shampoos, as well as hair care applications.
It improves uniform absorption of hair dyes by the hair fiber, ensuring evenness of final hair color.
N-Dodecyl-2-Pyrrolidone is also an effective coupling solvent for fragrances.
