Ergothioneine

Ergothioneine by YR Chemspec acts as an antioxidant and protective agent. It is obtained by multi-fermentation of Hericium erinaceum & Tricholoma matsutake.

Multi-fermentation can increase the yield of L-Ergothioneine, which is a sulfur-containing derivative of the amino acid histidine.
It can be transferred inside mitochondria by the transporter OCTN-1 in skin keratinocytes and fibroblasts.
It absorbs UV radiation and prevents DNA breaks and mutations.
Ergothioneine is used in anti-aging, sun care, skin protection and skin regeneration products.
