PME -1

C18-C70 alkanes and 1-ethenyl-2-pyrrolidinone polymers. Acts as an emollient and lubricant. It is a substitute for petrolatum and silicones and it does not prevent perspiration insensibilities. The consistency of the liquid or fluid o/w or w/o emulsion does not significantly change in the presence of a small PME-1 percentage within a 20°C-50°C temperature range. Used in cosmetic ointments, lipsticks, lip balms, massage creams, barrier creams, hand creams, baby products and waterproof sunscreen preparations.
