1,2-Hexanediol. AdvensProtect 6 by Seqens acts as a moisturizing agent. It is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient with very good non-irritant moisturizing properties and as a good solubilizer for lipophilic ingredients.

Its short lipophilic chain attaches to the lipid structures orientating the hydrophobic part of the molecule to the upper skin layers for better moisture retention.
It is often co-formulated with AdvensProtect 8 (caprylyl glycol) or phenoxyethanol and is used to replace parabens.
It reduces the surface energy and therefore the contact angle of water on the hydrophobic surfaces of the skin, giving better moisture distribution.
It is suitable for use in especially very sensitive applications areas like facial masks and intimate hygiene products.
It works synergistically with traditional preservative actives and other antimicrobial substances in personal care formulations.
AdvensProtect 6 has a shelf life of 3 years.
