Sodium Salicylate. Salisod by Salicylates and Chemicals is an anti-dandruff agent. It is commonly used in cosmetics as an exfoliant and anti-bacterial active. It can be prepared from sodium phenolate and carbon dioxide under higher temperature and pressure. It provides scalp cleansing property.

It is a cosmetic active which can help promote conditions that lead to improvement in the appearance of impure skin.
It can lead to substantially better performance at lower use levels.
It possesses keratinolytic properties and fungicidal properties.
It is used in the treatment of hyperkeratotic, dandruff, ichthyosis, psoriasis and in the treatment of fungal skin infection.
It is used in creams, ointments, toothpastes and mouthwashes.
The shelf life of Salisod is 2 years.
