It has mild nutty scent and protects skin against the environmental stress and helps to reduce the appearance of aged skin. It is an ideal ingredient for moisturizing formulations, as it reduces the water loss by protecting skin's moisture barrier, keeps the skin hydrated and makes it look plump and radiant. It absorbs into the skin, leaving oily feeling. It contains essential fatty acids such as palmitic acid (6.4-7.0%), stearic acid (2.6-3.5%), oleic acid (18.0-20.7%), linoleic acid (18.0-20.7%) and alpha linolenic acid (59.4-64.7%). Chia Seed Organic Carrier Oil-Extra Virgin is used in lotions and creams meant for soothing dry and itchy skin. It has a shelf life of up to 2 years.
