It is rich in antioxidants and gamma-linolenic acid, which makes it a highly effective soothing agent. It is often combined with Vitamin E to prevent oxidation. It increases elasticity in the skin, and can be used to protect and nourish skin tissues preventing chronic skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. It can also be used to slow premature aging. It is GMO- and BSE/TSE-free. It contains essential fatty acids such as palmitic acid (6.0-8.0%), stearic acid (1.0-3.0%), oleic acid (8.0-16.0%), linoleic acid (43.0-49.0%), a-linolenic acid (12.0-15.0%) and ?-linolenic acid (=15.0%). Black Currant Seed Carrier Oil is used in skin preparations and other cosmetic care products such as face creams, moisturizers and body lotions. It has a shelf life of up to 2 years.
