Red 28 Lake (CI 45410) (96-98%) (and) Triethoxycaprylylsilane (2-4%). RED 28AL C-11S3 by Kobo Products is a surface treated pigment. Triethoxycaprylylsilane treated pigment contains caprylylsilyl groups crosslinked to the pigments to form a very stable coating, even at low pH and hence provides low surface tension, excellent hydrophobicity. It is insoluble in water but easy to disperse in esters, mineral oils and silicone fluids. higher pigment loading can be achieved as compared to methicone treated pigments. RED 28AL C-11S3 is suggested for use in decorative cosmetics.
