Silica Dimethyl Silylate. AEROSIL® R 974 by Evonik is a water resistant ingredient for thickening, hydrophobising & rheology control of liquid systems. It improves and maintains free flow and anti-caking characteristics of powders.

It is hydrophobic fumed silica after treated with DDS (dimethyldichlorosilane).
Due to large surface area, it improves thixotropic effect and transparency.
It is used in cosmetics formulations.
The shelf life of AEROSIL® R 974 is 2 years.
