PEG-20. Polyglykol 1000 by Clariant is a humectant, solubilizer, antistatic agent and fixative. It possesses non-irritating, softening and cleansing properties. It offers low toxicity and no emulsifying effect. It can act as a moisturizer in antiperspirant & deodorants, shampoos & liquid soap, hair styling products and bar soap. It has very low water content & biodegradability and is compatible with hard water. It can also be used in bath oils and foam baths to assist the solubilizing action of the active substances for perfume oils. It is also used in the cosmetic industry in toothpaste to improve consistency and storage stability. In toothpaste, it can replace glycerol and sorbitol. It has been proven to be highly successful in the production of transparent toothpaste. Polyglykol 1000 has a shelf life of 2 years.
