Polyamide 3

Polyamide 3 by Alfa Chemistry is a preservative-free, non-GMO, high bio-renewable content, sustainable, partially vegetable-derived rheology modifier, emulsion stabilizer and sensory modifier. It is produced synthetically by the condensation polymerization of diamino compounds (reacted with fatty acids) with dicarboxylic acids. It reduces the need for adding multiple emulsifiers in formulas. It is only partially petroleum derived, makes clear sticks and good pigment dispersion.

• It is used in formulation with low to high polarity organic liquids.
• It offers multifunctional benefits including uniform delivery of actives, pigments and solids while reducing or eliminating the need for emulsifiers.
• It forms shear-thinning emulsions that provides a positive sensory feel while improving skin hydration.
• It is compatible with common emollients used in sun care emulsion and provides excellent skin feel with low tack.
• When castor oil is added, an instant lip gloss with a nice feel and shine can be achieved.
• It can be used to make solid gels of medium polar organic liquids such as emollient esters, glycols, alcohols, and polar surfactants.
• Polyamide 3 is used in creams, lotions, sticks, sunscreen, color cosmetics, ethanol gels and sprays.
