Natural Intermediates for Fragrance Industry

With the recent successful introduction of a new Natural Vanillin, “Rhovanil® US NAT” to the market, Solvay offers a key raw material for fragrances requiring natural ingredients.

As part of its strategy, Solvay extends its Aroma chemicals portfolio beyond its traditional diphenol chains to meet the Flavor & Fragrance market expectations.

Synthetic Eugenol - Eugenol NI

Taking the benefit of our strong expertise and innovation capabilities, we are exploring other synthesis or biotech routes for existing aroma chemicals. As an example, we are developing a synthetic Eugenol, “Eugenol NI”, an alternative to a natural product which price and availability strongly depend on weather conditions”. affirms Corinne Duffy, Technical Marketing Manager.

Sustainability is also a key driver when it comes to new developments and one of these is to improve the carbon footprint all along the value chain. “Some of our products are manufactured at our Plant in Baton Rouge - Louisiana and produced thanks to renewable electricity coming from a solar farm! We are proud to grow such a sustainable approach for the future” concludes Guillaume Meunier, Flavor & Fragrances Global Market Manager.

Eugenol NI and Natural IBCH were discussed at Solvay’s Booth A31 (June 5-6) held in Paris, Espace Champeret.
