Seqens Debuts 3 New Ingredients at in-cosmetics Global 2019 Seqens unveils 3 new ingredients at in-cosmetics Global 2019 at Booth N20.

Boosting Preservative Properties

In addition to its already well-accepted and established ChemoxyCare®8 (Caprylyl Glycol), and ChemoxyCare®2EHG (Ethylhexylglycerine) which have readily gained market acceptance for quality and lack of odor, Seqens adds to its portfolio.

It introduces ChemoxyCare® 6 at in-cosmetics. Non-sensitizing, with light feel, ChemoxyCare® 6 is especially adapted to Asian skins. It is an excellent humectant and emollient and shows very good preservative boosting properties. It presents best in class purity and organoleptic properties (odorless, colorless), is highly scalable and available in pack sizes from 25 KG.

"The development of ChemoxyCare® 6 with outstanding properties is another illustration of Seqens innovation and development capabilities to meet the need of our customers" said Laurent CASTOR, Seqens Vice President for Specialty Ingredients.

Enhancing Pore Refinement

It also unveils GLB44, a microorganism, which a team of Harvard Medical School microbiologists have researched extensively for its antimicrobial properties and its apparent ability to inhibit wide range of harmful bacteria is striking according to Dr. Onderdonk, the Harvard Professor leading the research. Prominent scientists including the 2005 Nobel Prize laureate for medicine are researching the different therapeutic applications of GLB44 for human health. GLB44 is used in the food industry under viable form, as a fresh bio preservative enhancer, as an organic probiotic, and as a global health enhancer.

For the first time used under topical form, Megabiotic™-44 is the cosmetic version of GLB-44, where we have inactivated the micro-organisms while keeping their probiotically produced bactericide peptides. Megabiotic™-44 contains plant culture medium (carrot juice), bactericide peptides (postbiotic) and inactivated GLB-44. It has proven in vitro the modulation of both skin microbiome, and strains targeted in the field of product preservation: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Propionibacterium acnes.

The comparison was done between live bacteria and inactivated. It has been demonstrated that the inactived product tended to have the same level of modulation on the targeted strains than the live bacteria, thus demonstrating the key role of postbiotics in the skin microbiome modulation. The clinical tests have demonstrated that Megabiotic™-44 introduced at 1% in a formulation is able to significantly reduce the number of visible pores together with pore size versus placebo after 28 days. These improvements can be linked to a significant increase of skin Staphylococcus epidermidis (PCR on skin samples), observed after the application of Megabiotic™-44 1% formula, whereas not observed with the placebo.

Innovative Journey

“Seqens is engaged into a highly innovative journey in cosmetics. Megabiotic™-44 represents our ability to find new scientific combinations for the benefit of our customers,” says Pierre LUZEAU, CEO of Seqens.

"It is extremely rare to find a 100% natural ingredient that is organic, vegan, has perfect safety track record (over 100 years), does not contain any major allergens, and cannot be overdosed on, and this partnership with Seqens has the potential to bring revolutionary changes in the cosmetic field." declares Kiril PETKOV, CEO of Proviotic.

Enhancing Sensory Feeling

Glycuron™ 2.78, a high molecular weight polysaccharide rich in uronic acid produced by biotechnology, able to enhance measurable positive image perception.

Glycuron™ 2.78 is produced by Alteromonas sp strain. This microorganism was collected in Moorea sea lagoon, associated with a sea anemone. Glycuron™ 2.78 is an exopolysacharide with very special physicochemical properties. This 4million Da sugar polymer, rich in uronic acid is liquid at 0,5% in water and is able to enhance formula sensory feeling.

Glycuron™ 2.78 glycobiological efficacy was determined thanks to the lectin-array technology, aimed to determine saccharidic patterns able to interact with cell lectins. It has been determined that Glycuron™ 2.78 was able to interact with DC-sign lectin and Rhamnose receptor, respectively involved in inflammation and dermo-epidermal regeneration.
Clinical tests run on a 1% Glycuron™ 2.78 cream versus placebo showed statistically significant results after 28 days, on hydration and a trend in favor of Glycuron™ 2.78 cream regarding skin evenness and texture. The originality of the evaluation lies in the fact we have measured the emotional impact of the Glycuron™ 2.78 cream versus placebo.

We have used Emospin technique (Spincontrol patented technique), which uses the measurement of prosody (voice loundness and frequency) and verbatim. This study shows that Glycuron™ 2.78 cream is able to significantly enhance SELF IMAGE perception (what would you say of yourself), and PROJECTED ALLO PERCEPTION (what do you think other think of yourself). Placebo did not generate any significant change in prosody or verbatim.
