The Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi), China’s choice sourcing platform for the global personal care industry, opens at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC) to a bustling show floor comprising nearly 800 exhibitors from around 30 countries and territories.
The Industry’s Choice Sourcing Platform
Over the next three days, exhibitors will present an innovative tapestry of ingredients and services, providing a dynamic platform for more than 30,000 expected trade professionals to connect with key players, learn from industry veterans, and explore the latest personal care advancements.
Companies like
Givaudan,
Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, and
Provital took center stage on the show floor with the global launch of their new products. Of the many innovations making their debut at PCHi, several that were noteworthy include - Givaudan’s
Illuminyl™ 388, a biotech-enhanced skin brightening prebiotic; Lucas Meyer’s Corneopeptyl™, a patented peptide biomimetic to the LCE6A protein; and Provital’s
Shiloxome™, a barrier-strengthening active that provides the skin with a self-restructuring capacity.
Over 50 new products are presented across various special feature areas, such as the New Product Showcase and Beauté Gourmet, at this year’s show.
Commenting on the launch of their latest innovation at PCHi, Ms. Shan GODBILLE, head of Strategic and Operational Marketing at Givaudan Active Beauty, shared,
"It was a combination of factors that led us to unveil the bio-based illuminating active here in Shanghai. For one, the China beauty market possesses tremendous potential — in particular for this type of claims and is one of great importance to our company. But more importantly, our Consumer Marketing Insights (CMI) team ran consumer studies and confirmed this ingredient’s high level of relevance for this region."

Industry’s Most Ingenious Developments and Technologies
The prestigious PCHi Fountain Awards 2024 were presented earlier this evening at the Industry Night Dinner held at the InterContinental Shanghai Expo. Winners across 13 categories were meticulously chosen by a panel of industry experts, comprising scientific researchers, industry veterans, and specialists from PCHi’s Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC).
Introduced in 2017, the PCHi Fountain Awards have become an influential annual event, propelling the industry towards advanced research capabilities and cutting-edge technologies.
Scores of nominations were received from exhibiting companies between October and December last year, and entries were evaluated against standardized criteria, including product ingenuity, technical prowess, and market application prospects.
"The caliber of entries we received this year was exceptional, showcasing the industry's immense capabilities in driving innovation and setting new standards," noted an RSE spokesperson.
"The process of selecting the winners was no easy feat with such a strong lineup. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part, recognizing the valuable contributions each company has made to the industry. As we celebrate tonight's winners, we're truly inspired, and we look forward to fostering even more sophisticated and creative offerings in the years to come."

Trade professionals can look forward to the 8
th edition of the PCHi Technology Summit, which will take place in Guangzhou from 20-21 August 2024. The Summit aims to provide attendees with a specialized platform for key discussions on technical advancements and industry trends, delving deeper into the status of the domestic market and promoting closer collaborations within the industry.
The next edition of PCHi is scheduled to take place from 19-21 February 2025 in Guangzhou, China.
