SEPPIC Palm Oil Sustainable Supply SEPPIC continues its commitment for sustainable palm oil supply. It is responsible to innovation that cares for the environment and its stakeholders. Palm oil’s fatty chains provide a wide variety of properties that are essential in manufacturing some of biosourced, performant and biodegradable ingredients, which makes this supply chain an important focus of strategy.

Partnership to Evaluate Performance

By joining the collective initiative Action for Sustainable Derivatives (ASD) in 2019, in its first year of existence, it entered a partnership that allows it to evaluate the performance of its main suppliers of palm derivatives and their action in favor of a more virtuous sector. The SPI (Sustainable Palm Index), in 2021, rated SEPPIC for its commitments, process & results in the transformation of the palm supply.

ASD is an organization, mostly from the cosmetics industry, whose common objective is to accelerate the transformation of the palm supply. ASD now covers 10-20% of the palm kernel oil-based oleochemicals market and reached 86% transparency to mills for the annual purchase volumes of its members.

"We are proud to be part of this collective adventure with ASD and to work to transform the palm supply chain with RSPO. These partnerships are perfectly in line with our policy of conscious innovation. The results of the work carried out over the past two years prove the strength of joint work, and encourage us to commit ourselves ever more to this process," stated by Jean-Baptiste Dellon, CEO of SEPPIC.

Since 2010, it has also been a member of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) whose objective is to transform the palm oil industry into a sustainable industry. In 2021, its palm inputs were Mass Balance (RSPO) certified with the objective is to reach 100% by 2025.
