incos-latin-america-6th When it comes to beauty, Brazil has become a trend-setter in Latin America due to its abundance of natural resources and penchant for innovation. It’s now the fourth largest market in the world, making it the perfect setting for the sixth edition of in-cosmetics Latin America, which runs in Sao Paulo from 18-19 September.

The Region of Innovation

Famed for its flair and creativity, innovations in haircare, color cosmetics and fragrances are driving growth in Brazil; Euromonitor anticipates that the country’s beauty and personal care market will be worth more than $36bn by 2021.

But it’s not the only success story in the region – Mexico, Colombia and Chile have become home to numerous businesses that are launching incredible new products. And it’s one of the many reasons why suppliers like BASF are opening innovation centers in Latin America.

As cosmetic manufacturers continue to search for ideas and develop new products that capture the imaginations of consumers across the region, the organizer of in-cosmetics Latin America has launched a brand new Innovation Tour to run during the show later this year.

Open to R&D professionals from cosmetic and contract manufacturers, these guided, ‘silent’ tours aim to shine a light on the most unique ingredients on display at the show. Led by Cleber Barros – a cosmetic chemist, teacher, lecturer and consultant – attendees will be able to explore what is new and ground-breaking in the industry.

“We are very excited to be launching the Innovation Tours at this year’s in-cosmetics Latin America. It’s vital for cosmetic manufacturers to develop unique products that meet today’s consumer demand, and this addition to the event will lay the foundation for R&D teams to be even more creative,” commented Barros

These tours will help R&D professionals find new ingredients, materials and techniques that will enable them to create amazing new formulations that tap into the emerging trends, such as male grooming.”

Elsewhere at the show, R&D professionals will find a wealth of information about some of the most important areas of the beauty industry. The themes for this year’s ‘Spotlight on’ area – sponsored by Chemyunion – have been revealed, with visitors able to learn about novel Haircare Actives, Skincare ingredients and Formulations.

in-cosmetics Latin America also welcomes back the revered Innovation Zone that offers visitors the chance to discover the most innovative new ingredients and formulations to have hit the market, either up to eight months before the event, or at the show itself. And the Mintel Live Demos also returns, offering an exciting learning experience for visitors keen to find out more about latest products and ingredients.

During the event’s educational program, cosmetic chemists can join a series of free-to-attend Technical Seminars that will see the likes of Givaudan Active Beauty, LipoTrue and SEPPIC reveal new research, scientific evidence and highlight ways of working with their newest ingredients.

The ever-popular Marketing Trends presentations will provide exclusive insight into the latest industry trends, facts, figures, market analysis and research. Among those presenting will be Euromonitor International, which will look at the latest haircare trends; SCENTERPRISES which will explore innovations in fragrances and personalization; and Peclers which will discuss how brands are reinventing beauty with naturals and technology.

Meanwhile, ITEHPEC’s Technical Workshop will provide an opportunity to learn from renowned experts set to explore a host of important topics and discuss the industry’s future challenges. And all visitors are invited to join the show’s After Party and Awards, on 18 September, that will celebrate the best innovations and provide a setting to network with industry peers.

Commenting on the return of in-cosmetics Latin America, Event Director Daniel Zanetti said: “in-cosmetics Latin America has quickly grown to become the leading event in Latin America for personal care ingredients, bringing together suppliers with finished product manufacturers in a vibrant and creative setting perfect for networking, learning about future trends, and discovering new products. We can’t wait to see what this year’s event has in store for the industry.”
