in-cosmetics Global Workshops to Discuss Major Industry Trends

in-cos-workshopsin-cosmetics Global 2020 event will have interactive workshops to offer delegates the chance to liaise with leading scientific, technical and regulatory experts, to discover and discuss the most prevalent industry issues and plan for future business opportunities.

Preservation Challenges and Claims


Each session will offer insights and practical tools to enable personal care professionals to drive their business forward. The five half-day workshops, running from 30 March – 1 April, will cover five key topics.

Independent consultant Dr. Andrea Mitarotonda PhD FRSC will help attendees understand the risk of increasingly challenging preservation practices on the skin, with different technical takes in terms of formulation, dermatology and toxicology in Preservation Challenges & Skin Sensitivities (Monday 30 March, 14:30 – 18:30).

Dr. Theresa Callaghan PhD, skincare and cosmetic product claim specialist, will help attendees understand the complexity and nuances of developing cosmetic claims in the Beyond the Adjectives of Claims (Tuesday 31 March, 9:30 – 13:30).

Skin Microbiome, Sutainability and Hair Care


A series of seven presentations from leading experts including Nava Dayan Ph.D., owner, Dr. Nava Dayan LLC, Skin Care R&D Consulting; Alex Chapman, head of operations, Labskin United Kingdom; and George Weinstock Ph.D., professor and director of microbial genomics, Jackson Laboratory for genomic medicine will explore skin microbiome mapping, research and regulations in Skin Microbiome: Novel Discoveries on Healthy Skin, Testing Methods and Regulations Aspects (Tuesday 31 March, 14:30 – 19:00).

Judi Beerling MBA, C.Chem. MRSC, Technical Research Manager, Ecovia Intelligence, will reveal how to develop effective “green” formulations and navigate key marketing techniques and messaging to define sustainability credentials in Formulating for a Sustainable Future – Beyond Natural & Organic (Wednesday 1 April, 9:30 – 13:30).

In the final workshop at in-cosmetics Global, Hair Exposome (HE), scalp microbiome, hair and color regulations and cutting-edge technologies will be under the spotlight when a series of expert speakers take to the stage. Co-organized by Beauty Cluster Barcelona, attendees can hear from Dr. Patricia Gisbert, innovation manager, Beauty Cluster Barcelona; Dr. Javier Mira, medical director, Lacer and more in New Avenues in Haircare: Hair Exposome, Latest Research & Technological Advances (Wednesday 1 April, 14:30 – 18:30).
