Dior-Cira-Collaborate-researchDior has collaborated with the leading Japanese lab, the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), at Kyoto University to study the mechanism of skin metabolism. This marks the first time that CiRA laboratory has entered into a partnership with a french luxury cosmetic house, Dior.

The research arm of LVMH, Dior and Kyoto University signed the contract for this partnership in April.

To Study Effects of Age on Skin Metabolism

Dior Science recently made successful innovation that opens new doors to better understand the transformation of stem cells with age, inspired by Professor Yamanaka's discovery of reprogramming adult cells into stem cells.

This new research project between Dior Science at LVMH Recherche and the Woltjen laboratory at CiRA will help in investigating the effects of age on mitochondrial status, skin regeneration and differentiation, with the hope of contributing to cutaneous rejuvenation.

CiRA laboratory led by Associate Professor Knut Woltjen, has a keen interest in the Dior scientists' latest discoveries in stem cells in the cutaneous domain and will provide iPS cells from healthy, elderly donors and expertise in genome editing.

With this new collaboration, Dior is aiming to leverage on the CiRA’s stem cell expertise to develop ways of regenerating skin cells and maintain healthy skin.
