Coty Inc. (NYSE: COTY) becomes one of the first 27 Pioneer companies to join Cosmetics Europe’s “Commit for Our Planet” initiative, an unprecedented industry-wide project which aims to reduce the cosmetic sector’s environmental footprint in Europe.
Improve Packaging Solutions & Act for Nature
The initiative encourages all cosmetics and personal care companies to take part in a joint industry effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve packaging solutions and act for nature.
The initiative includes specific commitments within the three themes of climate, packaging, and nature, which will help drive progress across the full value chain. These areas are central to cosmetics companies’ operations, ensuring the industry can make the most progress toward optimizing sustainable production and consumption of goods.
Coty chief scientific officer Dr. Shimei Fan said,
