Circul’Egg Sets to Conquer Cosmetic Industry with Sustainable Ingredients from Eggshells Circul’Egg has raised more than one million euros to finance its industrialization and is positioning itself as a key player in the circular economy.

The cosmetics industry has shown a particular interest in working with it. The shell and membrane powders proposed by Circul’Egg seem to be a godsend for this sector, which is constantly looking for ingredients that are more respectful of the environment.

Preserving Skin is a Real Boon for Industry

While the shell is a sustainable source of calcium, the membrane contains four high-added value ingredients:

  • Collagen
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Chondroitin
  • Glucosamine

Their high protein content or their interest in preserving the skin is a real boon for the industry.

The fundraising, reflecting the interest and enthusiasm of various players, reinforces its credibility. This fund-raising is also the scaling up of the company, with its industrialization and its numerous announced recruitments, the future of Circul’Egg is promising. Thus, various creams made from eggshells will soon arrive on the shelves.

Circul’Egg is beginning the first decisive chapter of its crazy entrepreneurial adventure. Its concept, that of recycling eggshells from egg breakers, has already won over many specialists and manufacturers in the sector.

France, Europe’s leading egg-producing country, discards more than 40,000 tons of eggshells each year without any recovery. However, eggshells are a real treasure, as they are composed of - a mineral source (calcium carbonate) and molecules of interest (hyaluronic acid and collagen).

Value Future of Bio-based and Upcycled Products

Circul’Egg is a start-up with real value and a promising concept. Like them, I deeply believe in the future of bio-based and up-cycled products. Because I am also convinced that tomorrow’s ingredients are today’s waste,” said Grégory Dubourg, CEO of Nutrikéo.

For this first round of funding, Circul’Egg wanted above all to build a quality board, in order to be accompanied by the best. From entrepreneurs to family offices and agri-food investment funds, all have shown their interest and, even more, their confidence. More than a question of money, the industrialization of the process is due to ambitious and involved investors who saw in this project a promising future.

At the same time, close relationships have been built with industrialists in the cosmetics sector in particular, but also in the food supplement and animal feed sectors. The interest for them to be supplied with biosourced ingredients, which is moreover totally transparent, is undeniable.

It is thus surrounded by specialists in communication, industry, import-export, and food processing that the Circul’Egg team is inaugurating a new stage in its adventure. Coming from recognized schools, entrepreneurs, and large groups, these experts are a real added value in humanizing the relationship. Thus, Circul’Egg has secured its customers for the next year and a half, pre-marketing all of its production over this same period.
