Elementis has announced that it will open a new unit in Portugal. It will feature a center of excellence and R&D lab that will be the showcase for customers, headquartered in Porto.
Ambitious Plans to Launch More than 50 New Products by 2026
The new unit will support both of Elementis' business segments. These segments are Personal Care and Performance Specialties. It is scheduled to open in the second half of 2024.
The company will hire 100 professionals for the project. This includes R&D, marketing, and commercial specialists. They will support the Personal Care business. Teams in Porto will do product development and technical service. They will also support customers in
skin care,
color cosmetics, and
antiperspirant markets. The company will offer relocation assistance for some roles.

Elementis’ new location in Porto will be an open and inspiring space for our employees and customers to collaborate on practical demonstrations, presentations and training. We have ambitious plans to launch more than 50 new products by 2026, and this new location will play a crucial role in realizing those plans," said Paul Waterman, CEO of Elementis.
By the end of 2024, Elementis expects to invest up to 3 million euros in Portugal to open the new unit. In addition, they will expect an annual investment of up to 6 million euros in people, facilities, and laboratories.
