Before the return of Hong Kong to China by the United Kingdom almost 10 years ago, there could have been three separate Chinese Cosmetic Markets worth discussing. But today there are only two, Mainland China or the People's Republic of China, and Taiwan or in some circles Chinese Taipei or the Republic of China (ROC). Whatever you call them, they both have very large cosmetics and personal care markets and compete for exports with the rest of the world. The best way to see how these markets are advancing would be to see what companies from each of them have to offer at industry trade shows. There are a number of trade shows that people in the beauty business from all over the world attend to get the latest information on industry products, technology and services. I have listed some but the major ones are Cosmoprof and In-Cosmetics.
