After a tumultuous 2009, what is the North American Skincare consumer going to be looking for in 2010? Science & Nature still Compete for Prime Time Consumer demand for both naturals and cosmeceuticals will continue to be strong. Given the economic environment, there will be a focus on perceived value that is not likely to go away anytime soon. Sustainability Concerns are Here to Stay. Marketers, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers will continue their efforts to appear more environmentally friendly, with further involvement in the natural and organic product arena. Examining the supply chain, as retail giant Wal-Mart has done, can have an enormous, positive impact. The challenges are daunting: finding sustainable packaging in personal care, creating efficacious and aesthetically elegant formulas and managing global regulations, to name a few. Consumers have made it clear, this category is meaningful. The Regulatory Climate Becomes More Complex.
