Cosmetic formulators, including those in the color cosmetics market segment, have been developing products that claim to hide the visible signs of aging and getting rid of wrinkles. Some medical doctors have even administered some treatments and therapies to combat the aging process. The main problem is how to get anti-aging active ingredients, which have primarily been monopolized in skin care and treatment products, into color cosmetics. This can be a bit difficult because many color cosmetic products are powders, anhydrous, hot pours or other formulations that have limited or no water to solubilize the active ingredients. Many of the active ingredients used to make anti-aging claims or water soluble and/or temperature sensitive. This causes problems when attempting to include them in these color cosmetic formulas. Many techniques have been developed to deliver these ingredients, many of which have minimal stability in terms of light, heat and possible sheer.
