Make - Up to Treat Aging Skin

SpecialChem / Vispi Kanga – Oct 20, 2010

Anti-aging skin - care ingredients are popping up in foundations, lipsticks, and blushes, with claims they'll help minimize wrinkles and brown spots by improving their appearance even after you are no longer wearing the makeup. The reality is that when makeup is loaded with proven anti-aging wrinkle-reducing ingredients like retinol, peptides and antioxidants, it can be effective, but to see an improvement over time, these ingredients must be present above certain concentrations. Some active cosmeceuticals used in aging skin makeup are Retinol, Arbutin, Mulberry and Licorice extracts, Kojic acid, MAP, and Vitamins C, E and Niacinamide. Makeup involves application of moisturizer, primer, foundation and concealer. There is also a trend towards development of "no makeup makeup that hides blemishes and leaves the skin looking natural. Moisturizers with UV protection claiming anti - aging for daytime would be a preliminary step for makeup application. They must excel in the key performance areas of moisturizing, non - comodeogenic, and leaving the skin primed for makeup application.
