Lead in Lipsticks?

SpecialChem / Nick Morante – Dec 26, 2007

From time to time I have the pleasure of receiving e-mails and other types of notifications warning me as well as other readers to beware of certain cosmetic products as they contain (or are made) with things that are considered harmful to humans. I say I take pleasure in it because I am quite amused at what I read. Where this information comes from really intrigues me. Where do people dig this stuff up? So the title of the piece, as you can see, is meant as an attention getter so that people will get the correct information this time. The best one is the warning that many of the major brands of lipsticks on the market contain lead. I won't go into detail here because many of you have probably read this so-called "alert". To me it's just some smarty pants looking for what I call their "fifteen minutes of fame". I get the impression that some people find tidbits of information usually off the internet somewhere and go to town with it. After all, information such as this is in the public domain.
