in-cosmetics celebrated its 20 year anniversary in April 2010 in Paris. The trends presentations are a major draw for visitors, which were well up in numbers compared to the last record set in 2007. Themes included how the global cosmetics industry is shaping up in the light of the recent recession. Researchers Kline and Euromonitor agreed that emerging markets such as China, Indonesia and Latin America were all performing above average and that skincare was one of the strongest categories in terms of growth. As 2010 is the year of biodiversity, several presentations, including a panel, discussed the implications for the cosmetics industry. Fairtrade and sustainability were issues which also came under the microscope by several speakers. The influence of fashion on cosmetics was another theme running through the show, and was the topic chosen for this year’s in-focus feature.This year, in-cosmetics celebrated its 20th anniversary edition in Paris with its largest ever show and trends presentation programme.
