IN COSMETICS 2008 : what’s interesting ?

SpecialChem / Patricia Lemann – May 2, 2008

There were a lot of exhibitors and interesting new raw materials at IN-COSMETICS this year in Amsterdam. Every exhibitor paid special attention to their presentation, along with beautiful visual effects, attractive stands, impressive textures, formulations and demonstrations. The target was, of course, for all of the suppliers to be as green as possible, natural resources were emphasised and well promoted. There were suggestions for silicone substitutes, petroleum origin oils and also lanoline. The mechanisms of Nature and Vegetal were investigated to be mimicked or well exploited. This inspires the creation and suggestion of new active ingredients, with a large trend for the firming actives and anti-wrinkles. There has been an explosion of vegetal and fruit butter suggestions, as original as possible, depending on the foreign origin of the plant or its rareness. Powders have become a technology that is being investigated more fully by distributors and manufacturers to diversify their activity or to progress in this technology, especially in composite powders.
