"How many ingredient launches have you seen in the past 12 months that were game changing?" question was put to the SpecialChem Community and has some significance in that it asks about newer ingredient launches rather than novel product launches. Also, if any of these ingredient launches have had an impact on the industry in the past 12 months. It's usually the finished product that impacts the industry but what about the individual ingredients that have been used by formulating chemists?
The formulating community would have had to stay on top of the industry all year and track all new product launches in order to determine which ingredients were responsible for the "game changing" effects in the industry. The key is to determine if any ingredients at all created products that were so revolutionary that the industry was forced to take notice.
