It is a high melting point vegetable wax, consisting of long chain saturated C-42 to C-60 esters derived from fatty alcohols and fatty acids. It helps to thicken the formulations by providing a rigid structural network of wax crystals. Moreover, it improves oil binding, emolliency, film formation and lubricity. In sticks, it contributes to hardness, texture and strength.
