It thickens lipid (oil) portion & helps keep emulsions from separating into their oil and liquid components. Microcrystalline Wax 623 increases viscosity and enhances gel strength in liquid and semi-solid systems. These characteristics encourage its use in stick products like lipsticks to promote structure, strength and lessen the brittleness.
