ChitoClear™

Chitosan. ChitoClear™ by Primex ehf acts as a film-former and is proven to be the purest chitosan possible. It is a positively charged compound, and is able to attract and bind to fatty acids, which are negatively charged. It absorbs up to 4-6 times its weight in fat including LDL cholesterol and prevents that fat from being absorbed into the body. The positive charge of the biopolymer binds it with the negatively charged skin and hair tissues, forms thin film with the hair keratin which gives an excellent moisturizing effect. The hair exhibits fewer tendencies to stick together and being less statically charged that provides for improved brushing and combing behavior. ChitoClear™ forms a protective coating over skin while at the same time retains moisture content. It is non-allergenic and mainly interacts with lipids and proteins, responsible for maintaining skin and hair moisture and elasticity. Main applications include shampoos, conditioners, gel and hair-colors, cream moisturizers, toothpastes and deodorants.
