Physalis Alkekengi Fruit Extract. Ground Cherry Extract-NS by The Garden of Naturalsolution acts as an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-oxidant agent. It is an extract of the fruit of cape gooseberrry, physalis alkekengi. It contains physalins, neophysalins, polysaccharides and flavones as active compounds. Physalins (steroid) shows inhibitory effect on the growth of pathogenic bacteria, E. coli. Moreover, its methanolic extract shows anti-inflammatory effect by reducing the expression of MMP-9 and inhibiting the activation of AP-1.
