PEG-17 Dimethicone. Silsoft* 895 by Momentive Performance Materials acts as a texturizer & stabilizer. It also acts as a foam and luxury milky foam booster in facial cleanser especially soap base. It is a copolymer of polydimethylsiloxane and polyethylene/polypropylene-oxide. It provides soft, silky and mild care to skin. It is soluble in water and is easy to use in the formulations. It could improve the stability of the formula as an assistant o/w emulsifier. It is very stable in the formulations and is not easy to hydrolyze. It offers rich and creamy lather. It may also provide light conditioning in shampoos, formation of small sized bubbles, flexible hold and rinse ability in hair. Silsoft* 895 is used in isotropic shower gel, moisturizing body wash and soap/syndet bars.
