A-Leen® 5

Pentylene glycol. A-Leen® 5 by Minasolve acts as an emollient, skin humectant, solubilizer, standalone preservative, solvent and antimicrobial protective agent. It is made from sugarcane bagasse, a renewable off-product from food production. It replaces formerly petroleum-based ingredient by a nature-derived version. It provides pleasant, non-tacky and non-oily skin feel. It offers skin moisturization with long lasting effect comparable to that of glycerin. It solubilizes and stabilizes lipophilic ingredients in aqueous solutions. It shows broad-spectrum, pH-independent antimicrobial activity against yeasts, molds and bacteria. It is combined with classical or non-classical antimicrobial agents, to boost preservation effect. It is used to disperse gelling agents, such as xanthan gum, in order to shorten hydration times. A-Leen® 5 is suitable for natural cosmetic products. It finds application in formulating perfumes, toiletries, make-up, skin care and hair care products. It is ECOCERT and COSMOS approved.
