Pentylene Glycol. A-Leen® 5 by Minasolve is an emollient, solvent, preservative, skin humectant, solubilizer, skin moisturizer and standalone antimicrobial protective agent. It also acts as an excipient for gelling agents. It is made from sugarcane bagasse, a renewable off-product from food production. It replaces formerly petroleum-based ingredient by a nature-derived version. It provides gloss, spreadability, smoothness, absorbancy, small soaping effect, non-tacky and non-oily skin feel. It offers long-lasting moisturizing effect comparable to that of glycerin. This ingredient helps to solubilize and stabilize lipophilic ingredients in aqueous solutions. It shows broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against yeasts, molds and bacteria. It disturbs the integrity of microbial cell membranes and is largely pH-independent. It can be easily combined with other classical or non-classical antimicrobial agents, to boost their preservation effects. A-Leen® 5 finds application in wellbeing body cream, scrub & oil. It is suitable for skin- & hair care products, make-up formulations, perfumes and toiletries. It is COSMOS and NATRUE approved.
