Chitosan. Chitosan fungal origin by Kraeber & Co is a film forming-, antimicrobial-, moisturizing- & hair styling agent. It is non-GMO, odorless, non-irritant for eyes, non-mutagenic, non-cytotoxic, non-sensitizing, inexhaustible, traceable, hypoallergenic, pure grade which is derived from naturally-sourced chitosan. It offers enhanced skin feeling and odor masking. It provides styling without stickiness & heaviness, improved hair appearance & feel, conditioning, repairing effect and protection. It can reduce dental plaque formation and acts as a mucoadhesive. It is a preservative booster and forms a protective layer. It is used in skin care applications and deodorants. It is suitable for hair care applications such as shampoos, conditioners, styling mousse and hair gel. It is designed for use in color cosmetics such as mascara, lipsticks, nail & make up. It can be used in oral care like for toothpastes, mouth wash and gums. It is compatible with alcohol (< 60%), salts, propellants, amphoteric, non-ionic and cationic surfactants and non-ionic emulsifiers. It is also compatible with rheology modifiers including guar gum, bentonite, sclerotium gum, hydroxyethyl cellulose and glucomannan. Chitosan fungal origin is produced according to ISO and HACCP guidelines. The shelf life of Chitosan fungal origin is 48 months.
