Microcrystalline Wax and Hydrogenated Microcrystalline Wax. Microcrystalline 170/180 #140 by Koster Keunen acts as a waterproofing agent, film former and barrier. Also acts as a plasticizer, wax & consistency factor and gelling agent. Exhibits flexibility, less oiliness, higher tensile strength, more adhesion and higher melting point than paraffin wax. It is non-toxic, non-irritating and amorphous-like in appearance. It is compatible with natural, mineral and synthetic raw materials. Used in formulating cosmetic products. Microcrystalline 170/180 #140 has a shelf life of minimum 2 years.
