Microcrystalline 145/155 #227 by Koster Keunen is a microcrystalline wax produced during petroleum refinement using specified techniques such as distillation, de-oiling and crystallization. It is characterized by its fine crystalline structure in contrast to the larger crystalline structure of paraffin wax. It contains long, branched hydrocarbon chains which correlate to a higher molecular weight. Microcrystalline 145/155 #227 is flexible, less oily, has higher tensile strength, more adhesion, and higher melt points than paraffin wax. It is non-toxic, non-irritating and also shows excellent gelling properties. Minimum shelf life is 2 years.
