C32-36 Isoalkyl Stearate. Branched Kester Wax BK-40 #197 by Koster Keunen acts as a wax/ consistency factor and moisturizing agent. It is a hard, brittle, high molecular weight branched ester with low melting point. It improves skin feel and helps reduce trans-epidermal water loss. Imparts a creamy texture with less grease than triglycerides. It mimics the textures of butters and hydrogenated chemistries without oxidation and rancidity issues. It builds viscosity and improves aesthetics in emulsions. Branched Kester Wax BK-40 #197 is used in formulating cosmetic, skin and hair care formulations. It has a shelf life of 2 years.
